When the population of Los Angeles is vacuumed off the face of the earth, Detective Mark Corley (Frank Grillo) storms his way onto an alien ship to rescue his estranged son. Uwais plays a young man who washes ashore, an amnesiac with a serious head injury whose past comes back to haunt him shortly after being nursed back to health by a young doctor. And, the biggest reason I went into this movie with higher expectations, is the fact that Iko Uwais and Yayan Ruhian were in this movie. It's like if CSI: Miami got invaded by aliens - and Grillo is doing his best David Caruso. If there's one flaw that I have to point out, and I really do have to point this out, is that Iko Uwais and Yayan Ruhian were criminally underused in this movie. But I cannot go so far as to say that it is, in and of itself, "good".
